: Most herp cages manuf's offer cages that barely meet proper size requierements.
: I visited the site u listed, and saw the tropical gym. Though not bad, it did not seem to me of proper size and ornament. And the $800+ tag made me LMAO. Who would pay a grand for a cage???
: However, I did appreciate their offering of cage plans for $20; even though u can get similar plans for free by just asking Q's here at this forum or visit people's webpages.
: I used to have a 8'x8'x8' cage. Now I may be too strict on cage sizing, and I usually am; but think about it:
: u acquire an animal not designed by nature to live in a household. So either u do it right, or u dont get the animal in the first place.
: Now, doing it right doesnt mean spend $800-$1k for caging n stuff. A trip to Home Depot or likewise and some basic knowledge on carpentry can result in a truly kick @$$ cage setup.
: I am not saying "dont' buy commercial cages" but I do believe many of them not always deliver the true needs an exotic animal, like the iguana, requiers.
: Surf more around, compare prices and cage designs. Spend for the long-run rather than short-run. An iguana cage should be at least 6 or more feet tall, 6 or more feet long, and 5 or more feet deep/wide.
: Good luck, if u got more Q's, just ask.
: I J
Joe,
for a cage of the dimensions you mentioned 6x6x5 what was the cost of the project by the time you completed it and how long did it take?
thanks,
Garrett
