I have encountered the same problems with new igs, (usually fed a bad diet before I inherited them). I used "tough love", some may not agree, but I have found that if you keep offering the food to your ig it should eat when it gets hungry enough, it will probably start with a little at a time, but eventually it will get used to the food you offer and learn to love it. Just offer a little at a time so you don't waste it.
