Benny my big boy is in heat. Beautiful orange colors. Saturday for the first time since I've had him I received my first nip (bite). It was weird. He looked at me funny I even said to him out loud "You're going to bite me arn't you." and BAM he hit so fast I didn't even think he actually even got me. Until I started bleeding from five or six cuts in my wrist. The good news is it wasn't too bad of a wound and even after he did it I still removed him from his enclosure and took him outside for his sunning. I didn't want him to think he was in charge of the situation. Was that a bad thing to do? I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation and had a second attack while handling. Benny & I are very close so every body movement or gesture he displays usually warns me ahead of time. This time I guess I was a little slow.
Not mad at him though. These things happen during heating stages.
