Funny thing about my ig is that I always leave his enclosure's door open when i'm home, and he rarely ever leaves the comfort of his enclosure, so he is allowed to free roam, but really doesn't care to. It's really quite odd. I guess he just considers his enclosure his home and would rather spend his time in there, most likely because he probably feels more safe there than anywhere else in the house. I have cats, but they rarely ever venture into Mr. Green Jeans' room, so that isn't why. He just really seems to enjoy his cage. Occasionally he'll walk around the room, and get himself into a bit of trouble, but not too often, but he certainly makes good use of the climbing apparatus in his enclosure.

: : What do you all think of free roaming iggys? I was also thinking about letting mine live in my room. I have a few questions about it though. Do they usually make really big messes? Would they be aggressive towards other animals? My brother was telling me about his firends iggy. He has 2 that can go anywhere in the house they like, but they aren't the only ones free in the house they also have a ferret w/ them. I was extremly surprised by this, I mean I figured a ferret would go and try to attack the Iggys. What odd animal friends...

: I would never give one free roam of the house. They can get into a lot of trouble. You can successfully ig proof one room, but to do the whole house to where it is absolutely ig proof/safe, is taking a risk. Plus it would be hard if not next to impossible to insure that temps were suitable.
