blue iguana's are just green iguana's that have some blue colors on them.

It has to do with the location they're from. Just like they aren't special horned green iguana's. Some iguana's just have horns and others don't.

Generally, as the iguana ages, the blue, bright green, and any other "special" colors fades out into a drab green.
