But pleeeeaaaasse, before falling in love with that iguana-girl check first if she is 100% healthy(no MBD, no initial syntoms of kidney failure??)AND if she is tame. It's VERY difficult and even dangerous to tame an adult iguana!!(Yes, Godzilla, I am talking about you, you grumbling green monster!).

: Hi Everyone!
: I just had to tell someone!! I shouldn't be getting excited yet, because I know nothing about the lizard, but I am!
: I posted here awhile ago talking about how I was considering adopting an iguana. Well, I've kept on researching (this makes two years of research before I made my decision) and I really want an iguana. I've read as much as I could online, as well as purchased and read Melissa Kaplan's book twice. Yesterday, I got James Hatfield's book, and I'm already a couple hundred pages in. I'll finish reading it by the weekend I hope.
: Initally I wanted a male, but I've been steered away from that by a couple of knowledgable friends. They told me a female was a better choice. I know that egg binding can be a problem, so my Mom called my reptile vet to ask about spaying (if it was necessary). While talking to them they told her they know of a young female iguana that is looking for a home. They aren't sure why it is that the owners are looking to place the iguana else where, but she has been taken care of very well and has been into the vet for checkups several times. Her owners will not let her go to just anyone, and will keep her as long as they need to until they find her a good home. The receptionist said that she would call her owners to get more information and call us back tomorrow. I'm so excited!
: I am ready to get one, I think I know about as much as I can without having the hands on expereince. If this little girl doesn't have an enclosure, we will build her one that is 8 ft long, 4 ft deep, and 7 ft tall. I have everything all figured out and now all I need is the iguana!
: This was a bit of a pointless post! But I am SOOO excited! I'll tell you what happens with her! Wendy :D:D
