: I have had my iguana for 8 years, and not too long ago, his tail was suddenly numb from one part to the end. I noticed he moved his tail away from anything that touched it, and it was extra tender. About a day later it began leaking a clear odorless fluid from the tip until it dehydrated and fell off. I've been asking around and so far no one seems to really know, or they give me mixed answers. And its creeping up his tail. discoloring it and making it hard, sort of shrivling it up. He seems fine everywhere else (except his ugly scared up eardrum which constantly has to be watched for infection). Other then that, he seems fine. Note, he did fall one time about 5 years ago and something did land on his tail, it hurt it pretty bad, he wiggled it all over the place and seemed numb, but he did recover from it. Well, thats all the info I have.

Have you taken him to a vet for this tail thing? I Have to honestly say, I have no idea WHAT it could be, and do not want to guess. I would take him ASAP, if you have not done so already. What happened to his ears, that you have to constantly watch for infection? Interested to see what's up with that. Please advise.
