There are two things I can thinl of.
1) dry gangerine which will kill the iguana if not treated soo.

2) I have had two rescues with tail injuties that were black. The vet thought the one would lose his tail but he didn't.

If you are not sure or if you think the problem is gettng worse, PLEASE, see your vet.
