It could be a condition which it was born with, but more than likely it was caused by something lacking in it's care. This isn't to say that it's not possible to have a dwarf or pigmy iguana, as like humans, most members of the animal kingdom have such anamolies.

: i work at a local petstore and a lady came in with a 3 year old female green iguana that was at the most maybe 18 inches long. thats with the tail included. i asked her every question i could think of to ask to see what was wrong and how this happened, and im still puzzled because everything was in line. Diet, Caging, Lighting, temp, humidity...everything that i could think of was good. it was a pristine looking Ig. bright color, clear eyes, all toes, complete tail. and you could tell from coloration and facial features that this was a mature iguana. im just astonished and i thought i would share to see if anyone else out there has seen anything like this. im 99% sure that im going to get this iguana because she wants one of my big ones since she has one that im nearly convinced will never get big. shes stoked cause she is getting a large female, and im about to wet myself because ive never seen anything like this. again, i was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen anything like this.
