When I bought GODZILLA, 3 years ago, I noticed that half part of one of his fingers was almost amputated, looking very crooked and weird. The tip of the finger was cold and everybody told me to amputate it.I didnt amputated it and the finger is still there.
Yesterday I read in the GECKO'S FORUM the following information:
"Leopards geckos requires a humidity spot in the enclosure so that they may properly shed their skin.Failure to provide such an area will often RESULT IN THE LOSS OF DIGITS, AS THE OLD SKIN CLINGS TO THE ANIMAL AND MAY CUT OFF CIRCULATION TO THESE EXTREMITIES!"
After reading that I took GODZILLA from his cage, I took a magnifying glass and I looked carefully at GODZILLA's crooked finger.Do you know what I saw???YES!!!An old piece of skin clung in the finger cutting off great part of the circulation to the rest of the finger.I took with a baby scissors the old skin out of the finger and I hope now the finger will heal.
