Didn't you read up on iguanas and their habitats before building? Iguanas need their habitats to be tall in height. The specs are as follows, and no smaller: One and a half times the igs height, as wide as the iguana and it needs to be at least half it's length in depth and preferably three quarters it's length in depth. My ig, who is three and a half feet has a cage which I just built which is 6.5'H, 5.5 L, and 3.5 D, and he loves it. He has room enough to grow into it, and I may even go bigger if he gets really large. Always build more higher, not more floorspace. Iguanas are arborial, not ground dwelling.

: I had my 3-foot ig in a vertical cage, 4' H and 2' square. It had a screen-door front, with not much humidity retained (40%). He had two 1x2-foot platforms plus the floor from which to choose. He ate like a pig and scrupulously pooped in the water bowl every day.
: Last week, I built him a horizontal 2x2x4 cage, with acrylic doors, a 2x2 basking platform, lots of floor space, a 2-foot swimming pool and a humidifier that gets the RH up to 70+ percent.
: Now he leaves most of his food untouched and poops on the basking platform - very little.
: Should I patiently wait for him to adapt, or just eat the ungrateful SOB now? ;-)
