Hi everyone. I'm an unofficial rescuer of iguanas, and
I have a problem which maybe someone can help
with...For the last year I have had 5 igs free-roaming
in my house - just to clarify, my daughter and I live
in a 1 bd duplex. It's really crowded, but now that
it's summertime and considering that 4 of them are
male, I really need to place at least one of them. You
see, last week, one of the males chased down the most
submissive of the bunch and bit his tail really bad;
within 2 days the tail came completely off. The one
who got bit, Godzilla, is going to be fine, but it
caused me to stop dragging my heels about looking for
someone to adopt my baby Ziggy. I have had him for
nearly 5 yrs. since he was a baby. He's very good, and
tame, and I know that he will be even more wonderful
without having to share the attention with 4 other
igs. I had considered looking for a home for Godzilla,
but now that he lost his tail, I think nobody would
want him, as well as me wanting to make sure he
recovers as completely as possible. The only reason I
haven't looked for a home sooner is that I am so
attached to them, and last year I placed 2 igs, and I
mis-judged the person I was placing them with, and I
know they are not getting the care they deserve. I'm
still kicking myself, although I didn't have much
choice, having had 7 igs at that time. Anyway, I live
in Los Angeles County, and if anyone is interested
please e-mail me direct at tonivitali@yahoo.com or
answer to the group. I am willing to transport if
necessary. If anyone has any other solutions, please
let me know. Thanks. Toni
PS: i belong to yahoogroups ICQ Iguanas, Iguanamail, and Iguana, and I'm having trouble posting. If anyone can help me, please e-mail me direct. thanx.
