Well, for one thing, most people with iguanas do not want to breed them. Knowing the sex beforehand or early on isn't very important when you don't want to breed. There might be other reasons, like maybe it's more difficult to probe an iguana, making it more likely to harm them? I don't really know, that's just a guess.
