I keep my SKINK in the same cage of my IGS.Skinks must eat lots of proteine. So everyday I put in their cage boiled eggs, sardine, cat food etc...This food is for the SKINK.For my IGS I put lots of greens, vegetables and some rice. The IGs eat only their food and never even lick the SKINKs food.So I think if the wild iguanas could choose they would choose to eat vegetables and greens.Sometimes, in the wild they dont have choice so they eat whatever they find (crickets, eggs, babies birds, etc...)to avoid starving.

: i had been feeding my ig crickets and meal worms as treats only on the wkends. someone told me to not feed these to him, b/c it can cause bad health problems in the future. since then, he has been so pissy and doesn't like beening held. should i give him some to try and calm him down, just not on a regular basis? by the way, everyone says that ig arent keen on liking crickets and meal worms, well mine does. he would take 50 crickets in about 5-10 min. and about 1 can of the Fluker's Meal Worms in about 5 min. he loves these things. i think he got so used to it that now he doesn't have them, and he doesn't like it. any advice? i was told when i got him as a baby, that it was okay to feed them crickets, i mean they even had them in the tank w/ him at the store. sorry about ranting on and on.
