No, the leash dosent mess with his spikes. I took him to the store to "fit" him with it.When i dont have the leash hooked to the harness, the harness just lays between the spikes. The only times he wears the leash is when we go to the park and there are lots of trees around. Other than that, i take him all over without the leash. When i rescued him at around 1 year, his spikes were damaged right above his sholders. They kind of lay over like Free Willie. I think it was caused by a leash that was too tight.
