Today I saw my iguanas....(short story)

Today I saw my iguanas drinking water!!Yes, the 3 of them at the same time!!!

I keep my iguanas in the balcony and it was a very hot day, around 100F!

They were obviously very thirsty and each time I approached their cage I could see them standing still in front of the large bowl of water looking at me.They didnt drink the water but they didnt move one inch either.They kept motionless staring at me.

Then I decided to hide myself behind the living room curtains.By their faces I could almost hear them talking:

REX:This river looks good.The water is clean and fresh.I think we can drink from it.

SHENA:OOOOOHH, I am sooo happy you found this river BIG BOSS, you are so brave and intrepid!! I am very thirsty!!!

THORN: But BIG BOSS, you know it is not safe for us, iguanas, to be on the ground , exposed to the predators.We are vey vulnerable when we are on the ground!!We should be up, hidden behind the leaves of a big tree!!

REX:Shut up, soldier!!Dont you see I am carefully watching the BIG WHITE MONSTER WITH FUNNY SCALES (me)??We will not drink if it is around!!Dont you dare give me orders or suggestions!!Im the BIG BOSS, your only MASTER!!

THORN:Sorry BIG BOSS, no need to headbob again. I will follow your instructions!!

SHENA:Pleeeeeaaaase, BIG BOSS, Im sooo thirsty!!Only a little drop of water!!!

REX:OK guys, I think its safe, now!We can drink!!But do it fast, we, iguanas, need to always be on the alert! There are so many predators around!!
