Iguanas, like all wild animals, are very instinctive.They are born believing that everyone is a potential predator.Even you.So when you first handle your ig he will think he will be eaten by you.After being handled lots of times by you he will start trusting you but his first reaction still will be of panic for a long time.
3 of my 5 igs are around 2 years old.They dont react in panic anymore when I handle them.They close their eyes when I rub their heads but sometimes they still keep one eye open to keep guard while enjoying being rubbed!
