When s/he is warm and happily basking, s/he gets whippy and runs like the wind. First thing in the morning, or a few minutes after lights out we get quality snuggle time.
I let him lie on my chest for an hour every night, gently petting him while he falls asleep. Once he's dead to the world I gently replace him in his home for a good night's sleep. Since I started doing this I've noticed a lot less panic when s/he's all sun or heatlamp warmed. Still struggles but calms down quickly and looooovvves a good eyeridge rub.
Good luck with the taming, and if you find any good tricks please do pass them on.
