: my iguana is never calm. i hold her once a day for about 20 min up to an hour, yet the moment i set her back in her cage, she acts like im the enemy again. then when i walk by her cage she freaks out and jumps around. is there anything certain is should be doing when i am holding her?
How high up is her cage? Sometimes if their cage is real low to the ground, they can feel insecure. Sort of like they are going to be pounced upon by something. If it's low, you might try raising it higher, so that you are about eye level with her. BUT...sometimes, in more dominant igs, if they are above eye level, above youe head, they feel "bossy" and can get an attititude. But in your case, it might give her more confidence.
