Being a chick, per se, I have to say that most of the women I know find Phil "cute." Those who don't usually warm up to him right away let down their guard after I talk for a while about what a great ig he is, what I do to keep my apartment sanitary, etc. In fact, I have more male friends that scream and run away (I kid you not) when I take Phil out around them.
Anyway, in my living room is a huge PVC monstrosity that Phil lives in, and there are two tall, ugly tube cages in my bedroom that house my chameleons. Anyone that has a problem with this can take a walk, as far as I'm concerned. The boyfriend is respectful of my space and my animals, and he wouldn't be here if it were any other way.

I guess what I'm getting at is that, if you have a true passion for your critters, anyone who thinks your lizards are 'ugly' or 'gross' will probably not be very compatible with you in the long run anyway. Take care,
