: Please be careful with Pedialyte!!Such products can be VERY DANGEROUS if given in excess. To reanimate weak new born dogs I prefer to put sugar under the tongue. For dehydration I prefer water with sugar and salt.2 parts of sugar for 1 of salt.
: But he does not look dehydrated. His skin is bright. He looks sad.If he is eating he will be OK.If he is contispated give him papaya.

: Hi,all. I posted a few days ago about an iguana we were given (or really that we took from neglegent and TOTALLY ignorant owners),that had been housed with a nile monitor.both in the same 55 gallon aquarium for several months(juveniles both)as soon as we got them we separated them(unfort.the nile died yester.)the iggie is perking up but has not had a bm in the 4 days since we got him(and none fresh in the old tank)
: : I know the iggie is sick, and before anyone flames me about needing to take him to the vet instead of coming here first just let me say in my own defense we love animals unfort.we don't have the money for a trip to the vet right now, believe me i hate this but....i wanted to help these animals because of the horrible situation they were in and i Know that my home is better than where they were.
: : so my ?'s are 1.how do i treat a probable impaction(i've seen the post about admin.mineral oil, warm baths and pedialyte, but how much and how often)
: : 2.im sure that this poor guy has MBD his spine is curved as well as alot of other indicators.so how do i go about helping this NOW.i've got him under a reptisun 5.0 iggie bulb and sunlight when possible,(i live in washington state.)
: : Should i give calcium w/pedialyte?(rest assured i will be taking to the vet in a couple of weeks,ASA I can)thanks for any and all advice.sorry for the long post.I really want to do what is best for this animal now.
