I am going to keep 2-3 of them. And the rest are being released. It is amazing how quickly they have calmed down. There isn't any laws about introduced species. Yes iggies have been here a while. I often see and catch big 6fters. I know of a family down the street that feeds about 16 adults.

: Wild introduced species can wreak havoc on land, thats for sure. BUT - Do we really need to be going out of our way to capture them and put them in seemingly good homes? NO WAY could you know in less than 24 hrs if someone is a suitable iguana keeper.

: There is no good answer to this... Other than capture and humane euthanization. And yet - People will disagree with that as well.

: : : I have already found good homes for 5 of them. I no a few others that are intersted also. I am keeping 2-3 of them.

: : : : What are you going to do with them? Its not easy to find good homes for igs!!Why they are not supposed to be in the wild?

: : : : Flavia

: : : : : They are supposed to be in the wild -- people have enough trouble placing iggies that aren't wild caught. Let them where they are. They are cute, for sure, but I wouldn't mess with nature.

: : They haven't just been introduced down there. The climate is humid and warm -- what they're used to. They are fine in FL. There may be a law against wild-caught iguanas (there are for certain animals/birds).
