My two year and four month old iguana Mr. Gordon Green Jeans loves his new cage. Compared to the old one I had him in it's a castle. The old one was only two and a half feet high and five long(two and a half deep), and the new one is six and a half high, five and a half long and three deep.
It was funny when I first put him in it, because he was looking to see if it was truly escape proof(it is), and he's deemed it secure enough I guess, because he seems to be done looking for an out. I put a really heavy marine rope in there, a basking shelf at five feet, one at three and a half feet, a hide box on the bottom and a blanket for a wall in the back so he can climb it. I have been looking for some nice driftwood to put in there with no luck. I live in Rhode Island, so there are plenty of beaches to comb though, so I'll find something soon enough I suppose, but I'm getting impatient, and so is he. He wants his driftwood damn it!!!
For anyone planning on building a cage, PVC is great to use. I used PVC with galvanized steel hardware cloth with half inch squares I think, and it works great so far. Just make sure there are no sharp edges if you use this stuff.
