Spike is 40 inches long.. so I guess he is closer to 3 1/2 feet, sorry about that.

Hmmm... I didn't realize he has scars. He has patches where he is shedding. I just went and looked closer at him, all of his skin/scales have the same texture, along his sides anyway. Where do you see scars on him?
If he does have scars, I don't know what happened I've only had him a week.

Thanks to everyone who posted info and suggestions! I want Spike to be healthy and happy. You all are great!

Oh yeah I have one more question... When he inflates his dewlap, is that always a sign of aggresion? Because when I scratch his head, he will usuall inflate his dewlap. But he also lifts his head up toward my hand and close's his eyes.

He has not tried to bite me, yet. He whipped his tail once, at our dog. I guess they won't be firends for a while. Spikes home is in my room, and our dog doesn't go in there. I wanted them to meet though so while Spike was in his cage, I took Taz in there. The reaction was an instant tail whip... So I keep them apart now.

Thanks!
Steve
