He will learn. I put food out at 7:30 am when the lights kick on. He isn't warmed up yet, but he usually eats right away or within the hour...but then munches on the rest of his food throughout the day. I then give him dinner at 5:30pm and he eats that immediately, but leaves a little which he munches on for the next couple hours. Basically mine eats on and off for 12 hours! Don't offer the food at night...he shouldn't be eating when there are no lights (darkness makes them fall asleep)
