As long as you have a cool place in the cage...he will be okay even if it gets hotter. They will move if they are overheated.
At night, I use a ceramic bulb (gives off no light). I live in Florida and I still use it even now when it has been 95 outside during the day and probably in the 70's or 80's at night. We keep our air at like 75 at night though. Anyway, he likes to lay under it at night so even though they can take it at that room temperature, I think they really prefer the warmth. I would put one up and let him choose whether he wants to lay under it or away from it. Our lights are all on timers.
