Just because he has missing spikes doesn't mean he's not healthy. Sometimes they will grow back but I wouldn't count on it. Trouble shedding or just catching them on a cage can cause them to break.

Do you have a UVB light? Have you had a fecal done? Many times igs can get worms/parasites so it is a good idea to get one. Get a good REPTILE vet! Good luck.
