Of course that will happen when I'm at work! Anyway, my post still stands, it is just that I thought he was 12" STL....should have known that would be SVL! Either way, he is small but 2.5 feet is a little better at least!
: 12"????? that is horrible. He should be more like 6 feet! This does not mean you shouldn't take him. You certainly won't have to worry about this guy getting too big for you to deal with as his size will always be stunted. Maybe the owner doesn't really know the age? Anyway, take a look at him and ask his history (was he the first owner?)
: It sounds like he must have not had UVB light / had MBD or a bad diet at one point. That diet you mentioned wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either.
: I wouldn't say this iguana would necessarily be too much for you to handle. You will have the satisfaction of taking in an iguana that NEEDS help. And, his health may already be stabilized if this guy isn't his first owner (perhaps it was a previous owner that did the damage). I would take a look at him and see what his personality is like. Only you can make the decision but I think it is awesome you are planning to adopt.
: Let us know when you find out more.
