I don't really care what other people say about leashes. If you have an iguana whom you can't trust not to run away, it's better to put a leash on him/her rather then lose him/her to being eaten by another animal or being hit by a car, or just dieing from the elements.
Leashes can bend spikes, but they usually bend right back. I've never had problems when I needed to use a leash when my iguana was young, and I still use a leash if I go somewhere where it may be possible that he could get spooked and make a run for it. I'd much rather have an iguana with bent spikes rather than a dead iguana anyday. In my opinion some iguanas may need to be leashed for their entire lives, while others are so tame that they will never run without one.

: I have a question about putting an Ig on a leash. Some people say it's bad because It brakes the spikes and Might brake bones. Others say leashes are wonderful. Which is right? Are leashes good or bad?
