the diff. between a dead tail and tail rot. . .

does any one have a pic of tail rot and a pic of a tail that is just dead and going to come off, my bros igg lost part of its tail b/c the male bit her. we are using peroxide and neosporin, like the vet said. but the tail is shriveld a lil still, i was hoping someone would have a pic or know of a site that shows the difference, thanks :)
