Definitely get him a UV tube, preferably ZooMed's Iguana Light or Reptisun, or ESU's Desert 7% bulb. Those are the only ones that actually do their job properly. Also you will still need a heat lamp so your iguana can bask, because it doesn't get to the 95F that your iguana needs to bask in to digest his food properly in your porch. These are things you definitely need, along with the proper diet, which you can find out about on this site.

: Hello! We just purchased a baby iguana, and have a few questions. First off, and most importantly..We live in Florida, and have a huge screened in porch. Is a heat lamp neccessary? it doesnt get below 75 in summer....I know the sun isnt supposed to shine on the glass because then the rays get too hot right?? We do have a heat lamp, I am not just trying to get out of buying one!! just think the natural sun and warmth would probably be better for him...right? Will ask other questions later.. thanks in advance
