He will eventually eat a proper diet if you make him. Cut the pieces small and switch romaine for better veggies like collards, mustards, turnip greens, dandelions, escarole, endive, watercress, hibiscus leaves. You can try escarole first as it is taste-wise probably the closest to romaine, but get 2-3 different ones each time you restock from the store. Soon you will find he loves all of his greens! (although some more than others). I can see you've been researching....keep it up and remember, he can get metabolic bone disease easily without the proper veggies (where he looks muscular but his bones are soft and breakable under the fiberous tissue that forms to support them...calcium is sucked from the bones)
