Jack Kevorkian also appears to have "a great deal of useful experience" but he may find instances in which it may be wiser not to impart that wisdom. I based my comments and examples on my personal opinion, personal experience, and personal knowledge of the AC statutes *in one particular state* since I am not familiar with the various statutes that may exist in Canada and I don't believe I ever alluded to anything contrary. Single instances of animal cruelty and/or practicing veterinary medicine without a license are MOST DEFINITELY punishable in MANY if not ALL of the 50 states of the US which is the locale in which I based my comments and no, I'm not familiar with the majority of statutes in Tennessee. It wasn't the question of whether Betadine is an acceptable antiseptic with which I took exception (yes it is acceptable and pretty much an industry standard). It wasn't the application of it with which I took exception (I've even had it used on me several times for things like sutures/staples and other medical procedures) What I took exception with was the qualifications of the individual asking the question. I'm sorry if you feel that you have been deprived of information, Joe. If you were curious as to the antiseptic qualities of Betadine I hope that I sufficiently answered the question. If you are curious as to how to go about properly suturing a wound on an animal (or even your own brother) then I would strongly suggest that you seek to further your education by attending a reputable school of veterinary medicine or, in the possible case of your brother, medical school.
