In my experience, they will go for the heat everytime! If your UV light gives off a lot of heat then it will (like the sun!) but mine have never gone toward the Zoomed 5.0 light which is why I put it right next to the heat lamp. And, they will burn themselves on a hotrock if given the chance as well (hotrocks bad!).
