For Brian, Bug's tail update...

: Well, Brian, we seem to be in a holding pattern right now. Bug self-amputated (chewed off!)the last 3 inches of his tail. We quit wrapping his tail after about three weeks, and he went without doing anything for 5 days, then bit off the end in one day. (He had damaged this portion so much that we had planned to amputate it anyway) At any rate, he hasn't bitten himself at all in the last week, and his tail is healing nicely. : Interestingly, the portion that he bit off was mostly the regrowth from the last episode two years ago. : At any rate, we seem to be doing OK right now, so we're hoping for the best. By the way, he's in full-blown breeding season right now, so I suspect that the two (breeding season and tail biting) are related. : Glad to hear that Goliath has decided there are better things to do than chew his tail, too... : Regards, : JohnT
