My 6.2 model just arrived not 2 hours ago. Funny you should bring this up today. Judging from the little that I've been able to play with it so far it looks like it's going to be an EXTREMELY useful tool to have around - at least around here. With the sheer number of bulbs that we're currently running combined with the occassional research that we do it's definitely going to help us out. Personally, I can't wait to see just how much effect things like aluminum window screen and nylon mesh actually have on UVB filtration. Reason I mention nylon mesh is that one day last summer while picking up supplies at Herpsupplies.com corporate HQ, the owner and I started playing with an old meter that he had lying around. He also had a reptarium sitting outside for his chams since it was a sunny day and after checking everything else in sight I thought - why not? Well, folks, if those numbers were correct last year, the nylon mesh reptariums are most definitely NOT a good outdoor enclosure. Just on the simple test that we performed the mesh actually cut down UVB penetration by roughly 50%. Next trip up he wants me to bring this new Solartech unit for him to check out so I'm sure we'll get to play with different things that he has in stock.
Mark was correct about price too - My unit cost $169. But it looks like it's going to be worth every penny for us.
