I guess the only positive way to possibly look at the situation would be to compare it to albinos that have succeeded with time. Well actually that problably only gives the albino burmese python. But if you think about, as time goes on and they get better control of the genes they will be able to utilize it for what they want, which is hopefully an impressive healthy iguana and not money. As for the blind factor and using uvb, I talked to a guy at the Serpent Safari in Gurnee Mills, and he said that they have some special uvb bulbs that aren't bright, to me it looked like they were using black lights, which enhanced the color of the igs. He did admit though that they were all getting blind slowly. To me personally a bright orange ig, or one with a nice blue head, or even go to rock iguanas before we do the old albino.
