: I have been trying to get my lizard to free roam. I have a room set up for him (along with his cage). There is one light in the cage, and another basking light above a perch. When i let him out of the cage to free roam he will climb to one place and just stay there. He doesn't come down to eat, or bask, or anything else. he went 36 hours without moving, and problably would have gone more if I did not take him out to sun outside for a while.
: When he stays in his cage he walks around, climbs, suns, and eats. how can I let him roam and still make sure that he is eating, basking, and excercising?

Maybe once he is more comfortable free-roaming, he will start to explore. Mine is a free-roamer and he has days he only leaves the basking spot to eat and other days he's all over the place and every time I come up to the room, I can't find him. If your ig is eating good and getting the lights and sun and staying warm, it may be that he's just not used to it yet.
