collards are great and so are mustard greens! You can find all kinds of squashes, Sweet Potato (o.k. to use occasionally), Green Beans (make sure they are sliced and diced very small to prevent choking) Cilantro, Escarole, Carrots (very seldom and also finely chopped or grated), Turnip Greens, Dandilion greens or flowers (can be used from your own backyard as long as you know they are free of pesticide) Kale (use very sparingly!)....The list gos on. Use your greens such as collards, mustard, or turnip greens as your main staple and supplement with a few other things. If I'm not mistaken...60% greens and 40% veggies? Someone correct me if I'm wrong?
I use fruit about twice a week and sparingly. It's great for providing hydration and it's fun to see them dive for it. *grin*
Some suggestions...
Grapes (halved and peeled, no seeds)
Melons
Blueberries
Strawberries
Nectarine (mine love this one, but only the flesh)
Orange (if your ig likes it, some don't)
Banana (sparingly)
Plum (again...peel it first)
I'm sure I left lot's of things out, but do your research! It's not as hopeless as it seems.
PS Hibiscus is usually not found in stores. You have to buy the plant or get it from someone's yard. If you buy the plant, it's a good idea to wait a good 4-6 months before feeding any to your ig because of the pesticides stores spray them with.
Hope this helps....get rid of the pellets. (no offense, but they are a rip-off if you ask me!)J
