As far as fluorescent tubes go, the ReptiSun 5.0's are the best you can use. Just make sure that the animal can get within 12" of the bulb or else it won't be receiving any UV exposure. The amount of UVB produced by fluo tubes is so small that the decay rate on the output is pretty much after 12".
I'm surprised people around here aren't beating me to my own punchlines these days (which reminds me - thank you Craig :)) Check out HerpSupplies.com for new bulbs and supplies in general. We do all of our repilte business there exclusively. I love/hate going to visit John. Plus side - He's always got what we need in stock.
Negative side - He's always got what we need in stock and plenty of cool things we don't necessarily need. ;) Last trip there cost almost $1000. Needless to say that he loves getting phone calls from me....LOL
AND, while you're at the site take a look at the mercury vapor bulbs from T-Rex and ZooMed. They're all we use around here for UV exposure. We've currently got 22 mv bulbs operating here. No third arms growing anywhere, no eyes melting out of heads (reptile OR human) - just a bunch of rejuvenating or healthy iguanas, skinks, tortoises, bearded dragons, basilisks, water dragons, and monitors. In a nutshell, higher UV output, heat producing, longer lifespan, warranty for less money per year than the fluorescent tubes.
