Yea, that is something I forgot to reply to in my post. There is proof that your little "experiment" is stunting your iguanas growth, and will likely kill the poor thing in the long run, just because you're ignorant of facts, and think you know it all and won't listen to reason. That iguana, at four years, should be just about five feet, and you've totally stunted it's growth. It will likely not get any longer. Too bad. Give the iguana to someone who cares about it. Why would you do this when all the evidence is to the contrary of what you think. Your killing your iguana and it won't show until it's ready to die, because if you know anything about iguanas, you'd know that their natural instinct is to not show when they are sick, so they have evolved into animals that are very hard to detect sickness in until it's too late, so do your iguana a favor and get it a uvb bulb.: First the EASIEST one of the bad vet signs, ANY QUALIFIED vet can tell a 4 yr olds SEX, Second ANY qualifed vet CAN get a blood sample, and the third (dont know if all or not ) but our vet (all be it found out later he dosent knwo as much as he THOUGHT he did) but he at least anaylized the fecal while I waited.

: PS your still HARMING them by NOT giving them the UVB and you wont convince me other wise, plus didnt you say she had ONLY grown TWO inches in a year. I took a SEVERLY abused iguana with proper food and UVB she DOUBLED her lenght (growing THIRTEEN INCHES in ONE YEAR) im not the only one that can attest to the NEED and the GREAT improvement with UVB lighting).

: : So i took Tyra my iguana to the vet today along with a bunch of my tortoises. The vet rana fecal exam on all of them and will let me know tomorrow how Tyra is (I expect nothing but always check). He also tried to do a blood test, however she has grown such a muscular rail that he was unable to draw any blood and decided to only try in two spots, so as not to stress her too much. He felt that she was in good health, and while he did not come out directly and say my way of keeping is fine, he just mentioned that those bulbs give themselves to much credit. For you all to know she is approximately 4 years old, and about 3 feet long with part of her tail missing, and weighed in at just over 4 pounds. He didn't see any need for me to change the way I keep her. On a side note I was curious I refer to Tyra as female because well thats what I am pretty sure she is due to very undeveloped femoral pores, but on the other hand she has horns on her nose and has a relatively large dewlap, also she is the most brilliant orange. Has anyone else ever seen a horned, orange female iguana. Both myself and the vet are leaning female, let me know what ya think
