By now you should have no problem with sexing a four year old ig. If she has no lump behind the cloaca, she's a she, if he has a lump, he's a he. Unless of course he's hung like an ant, in that case he needs a calogin injections or a penis implant,as we can't have him being down due to a lack of penises. J/K, but the vet should definitely have been able to give you a definitive answer either way, that's what he gets the big bucks for. : When did I ever say that this iguana had only grown 3 inches?? I didn't. This female came to me in october and has grown a few inches in length, and I can no longer see every rib like before, so needless to say she is growing. And for those that say that he is bad for not being able to sex I would love to post pics but no camera to do so, and my scanner is broke, but I have had 5 people who have all had experience with igs, and all at first look say male due to the head shape and horns and dewlap, but when you look at the underdeveloped femoral pores you say female. The vet said he say tyra was a female, but definately has the males charactersitics. I have also had her housed with one definate male, that she just didn't seem to care about, basically ignored him, and the other male she was with she would fight and head bob at. The male she didn't care about was right about the same size as her, will the one she hated is much bigger then her. What does that all prove not much but maybe my ig has excess testosterone or something for a female.
