: Guy free roams.
: Generealy, he either hangs out in the tree, or basks on our garage roof. He does not roam much, and comes in the house when he gets hungry.
: I was watching him on the garage today... It's a peaked roof, one side gets full-on sunlight, one side gets very angled sunlight, and there is a tree shadow on one corner. Guy spent the majority of his time lying on the angled-sunlight part. Every once in a while, he would crawl onto the hot side and bask for 10-15 minutes. Occasionaly he sat in the shade, spending 15-20 minutes there, cooling down more often in the mid-day, when it was hot.
: Just for fun, I climbed up there with a thermometer, to see what kind of temperatures he was using.
:
: Air temp was 84-86F.
: I could not walk on the hot side barefoot, 135+ F temp.
: The angled sunlight side was at 96F.
: The shade temps were 84-88F.
: This was in mid-day, between 12:00 and 1:00 pm.
: He chose to use those temps, and could leave the garage roof anytime he wanted. Something to think about...
