Hello....
I'm not an "expert" in the field...but I've heard various responses as to whether or not to freeze your salad. The main thing that comes back to me is that sometimes that can cause a loss of nutrients and vitamins by freezing it. Personally I did it when mine was a juvie but now prefer to do fresh.
As far as the heat question...I think the courts can get pretty hot especially in the summer. Iguanas can not tell if their belly is being burned, they have no sense of heat on their belly from what I've read. That's why heat rocks are tabu for Iguanas. I'd use extreme caution when taking him out on the asphault. Maybe do it earlier in the day when it hasn't gotten too hot yet. Better to be safe than sorry.
