: People wouldn't say "little white girl" because white people are a majority. Description would occur only for a minority. People would say "little indian girl" or "little chinese girl" and that wouldn't cause offense. People just get hyped up about black girl.

I personally would have had the same reaction whether he had said "little chinese girl", "little indian girl", "little black girl", "little white girl", or "little canadian girl".... I just didn't see it as relevant to the story, and I asked what it meant because I wanted to see what he was trying to get across, be it inocuous or not.
And I personally wasn't 'hyped up'. Like I said, I was merely clarifying for myself what he meant to bring across in that statement; it wasn't meant to begin a debate about racial majority, racial stereotyping, reverse discrimination, or anything else like that.
I wish people wouldn't automatically assume that my wanting to clarify his statement meant that I was "freaking out" or getting "hyped up" or anything, just as he probably wished that his statement wouldn't come across negatively to anyone.
I don't think political correctness is the problem here, I think it's defensiveness, whether that's a result of the "P.C. war" or not.
