The reality is that for many of us, black IS the 'different' colour, and we often use it as a descriptive identifying term in informal situations SUCH AS THIS FAMILY FORUM. AS far as describing our iguanas - yes!! When they are a 'different' colour, we will say "His orangeness" of something similar. Now, if you had told the girl to take a hike, or said what a stupid kid .. that would be different. However, your response to her was very respectful. The flack from a few forum people *I think* is because iguana people are sensitive, and always jump to the defense of those who cannot defend themselves. But it's a good story! Thanks for sharing it.
