Kahlua, our rescue, has severe scarring on her nose / face from an abscess.
We (the vet and I) are guessing that what her previous owners described (a bump on her nose that fell off) was an abscess. She probably rubbed her nose raw trying to get out of the little 20 gallon long aquarium she was cramped in, on top of filthy, encrusted wood shavings, and then it got infected in the deplorable conditions she was living in for 3+ years.
Her nostrils are now deformed. She has restricted airflow causing a wheezing / hissing noise when she breathes heavily. Her top lip is recessed, but has healed and alligned a little bit better with some TLC.

you need to get a cage where your iguana has enough room to move around comfortably. If not, it may rub its nose, then get infected, and be handicapped for the rest of its life like Kahlua is. Please get a larger cage, and a better diet, --for the sake of your iguana.
