Actually it's quite the opposite, iguanas are very solitary and fights can stem from territory issues..normally it's recommened 2 iguanas per house room AT MOST. Tho i don't know the situation with Mark, hehe so i'm assuming he's doing what he has to do.
Destructiveness? heh.. Well, my iguana does destroy things, if they can. IE: if you make something that's kinda flimsy and can easily be broken..they're gonna find a way to break it. They will try climbing on everything in the cage.
As for wire? Make sure you use pvc coated wire, as well as making it big enough for their nails on their feet to fit through. If the wire is too small, their nails can break off, and eventually perhaps cause a nasty infection, OR they can break toes.
As for heating - I wouldn't recommened any type of undercage heating. Mr. D said it best tho on heating reccomendations. And if you heat it well enough (and if it's insullated like you said) then at night you shouldn't really have to light it or heat it at all (iguana's aare perfectly fine at night wihtout light, probalby better off in fact).
I normally put the food and water on the bottom of the cage (as well as a repti rapids) so my ig can cool off if he feels he's getting too hot.
Anyways..I know everyone will probably recommend the Green Iguana Manual (forgot who it's by, but think it's like 650 pgs, very nice).
