hi again and thanx very much for responding to my message. i would like to know about how much it costed to build your cage( if i may ) and also what type of wood did you use and how did you attach heating/ lighting fixtures? did you put them in the cage or on top? if they are inside, is the humidity a problem for all of the electricity? also would you suggest glass instead of plexiglass? ok one last thing, did you remove the carpet under the cage or did you just biuld the cgae over it? i ask because my enclosure will most likely be built as an addition to my closet as well. and my bedroom is carpeted. i won`t be able to remove the carpet so, that being the case will i have problems with the ground of the cgae not being sturdy enough to hold me if i want to go in and also all of his trees and decorations?

p.s. your cage is beautiful and i`m sure your ig is very happy in it! thanx for all of your help!

: Hi Meagan,

: Before you do anything, I would suggest going to
: Melissa Kaplan's site and reading everything on
: there about cages. I think she really covers
: everything, like twice ;-)

: Here's a picture of our cage we built this fall.
: Our ig is only a little over a year, but he is
: big and he loves his big new cage. We took off
: the closet doors and added a plexiglass and wood
: addition. His cage is 6 ft. high, 5 feet wide and
: five feet deep. He has lots of basking branches
: and a waterfall at the bottom of the cage helps
: with the humidity. We had a lot of fun making
: this cage and we often put stools in the cage just
: to sit around in it with ig. It's sort of a serene
: place, listening to the waterfall, watching him
: climb around, plus it's toasty warm and since I'm
: freezing all the time, I love it!

: Good luck cage building!

: Julie D.
