it's not recommended to house multiple iguanas together in captivity - mainly for safety reasons. Squabbles break out from time to time and if kept in a confined space (anything less than an entire room) there is the potential for serious injury to occur to one or all iguanas. Having said that, there are always exceptions to the rule....
Housing males and females together not only opens up the potential for the above mentioned but also opens up the possibility for injury during any potential mating that occurs. Add to that, what would you do with any eggs that end up being laid?
Personally, I stick with recommending a 6'x6'x3' enclosure for a single iguana.
